The fishing settlement of Vlissingen at the mouth of the Schelde River arose in the XII century, and changed hands many times. Today it is a serene town with a marina for boats and fishing boats. The nearby Nollestrand Bay is decorated with colorful summer houses; to the south there is a public beach with bars that set tables right on the sand so that vacationers can freshen up with drinks and enjoy unforgettable sea views.
