The old Sutomore has long been a titbit for the Venetians, Ottomans and Montenegrins. Today the city is the fiefdom of tourists, which has been chosen by the sand and pebble coast. Photogenic semi-wild bays are hidden in the vicinity of the resort, and the city beach pleases with cafes, taverns, souvenir shops, sun lounger rentals and water activities. Sutomore is famous not only for its beaches, but also for medieval monuments: the skeleton of the Turkish fortress Haj-Nehaj and the ruins of the Benedictine monastery of St. Mary.
