Raudisandur or "Red Sands" is a 10-kilometer beachfront in the south of the Western Fjords near Breidafjordur Bay. The refraction of light turns the beach into a colorful spectacle, coloring the sand in shades of peach and gold. In clear weather, the Snaefellsjökull glacier looks out on the south side. The bay is famous for its observation points of marine animals and birds. Those wishing to spend the weekend on the beach check into the campsite on the beach.
