Ruinas Beach is an impressive cove at the foot of the ancient Mayan city. You can get to the shore using a wooden staircase that winds between giant boulders. Centuries ago, Indian canoes moored here, and today the wild, picturesque beach has turned into a natural attraction, where tourists and guests of the 13th century Indian settlement swim and pose for a photo in front of the backdrop of the bright blue Caribbean Sea and sheer cliffs.
