The Pensacola Beach sand spit stretches across Santa Rosa Island. On one side, the beach is surrounded by cafes, restaurants, and summer residences with boat stations, on the other there is the Gulf of Mexico, which welcomes guests of Pensacola with aquamarine waters, a snow-white coast and a pier where fishermen gather. Tourists practice snorkeling, diving, and sailing, while history buffs visit the ancient Pickens Fort. In summer, Pensacola has a fireworks festival, air shows and concerts.
