The glorious Nieuwpoort is divided in half by the Isère River, in the channel of which a picturesque marina for yachts and sailboats was built. The past of the town is inextricably connected with the battles of the First World War, as travelers will be told in the Nieuwpoort War Museum. The sandy coastline on both sides of the river locks is another attraction of the resort. On the right is a classic beach with breakwaters, sun loungers, umbrellas and beach bars, and on the left is a semi-wild shore with a lighthouse.
