Icelanders believe that the volcanic fields near the town of Budir are inhabited by elves. In winter, the black church of the 18th century stands out against the background of snow-capped peaks. With the arrival of summer, the coast reveals the bright colors: golden dunes, emerald meadows, aquamarine Atlantic and black lava rocks. Tourists choose Budir beach for walking and trekking the coastal path leads to the Songhellir cave and the ancient stone giant Burdur Snefels, a half-titan half-human.
